Player Information

The Anthracite Baseball Association is for players age 4-16, born within 5/01/2009 to 4/30/2022. We provide youth baseball divisions including Junior, Pioneer, Teener and Senior level play. It does not include youth softball level divisions.

 

  • Ages 4-12 will play in the Lower Level Divisions. (T-Ball/Minor/Major in Little League "LL", Junior in ABA, Seasons vary in length)

  • Ages 13-14 will play in the Pioneer Division. (April thru May)

  • Ages 13-16 will play in the Teener Division. (May thru End of July)

  • Fall Baseball has (2) divisions. Ages 9-11 for Junior and 12-16 for Senior. (End of August thru October)

 

Players age 13-14 can play in both the Pioneer and Teener level divisions. The Teener game season starts right after Pioneer.

 

If a 15-16 year old plays for the local high school teams (JV or Varsity), they must play for that team during that time.

T-Ball thru Junior Divisions

  • Age: 4-12

  • Sub-Divisions: T-Ball (LL), Minor (LL), Major (LL), Junior (ABA)

  • Season Length: Varies by level

  • Opening dates:

    • Junior: 5/8/26

    • Majors (LL): 4/13/26

    • Minors (LL): 5/2/26

    • T-Ball (LL): 5/16/26

  • Game start: 5:30 until May 1, 6:00pm after May 1

  • Bat type: USA Stamp Little League Approved

  • Cleats: Molded plastic (NO METAL)

  • Distance in feet (Pitching/Bases): 46'/60'

  • Helmet: C-Flap is required (What is a C-Flap? See image)

 

Pioneer Division

  • Age: 13-14

  • Season Length: Until end of May

  • Opening date: 4/20/26

  • Game start: 5:30 until May 1, 6:00pm after May 1

  • Bat type: BBCOR, USA Stamp or wood

  • Cleats: Metal or molded

  • Distance in feet (Pitching/Bases): 60'-6"/90'

  • Helmet: C-Flap is recommended, but not required

 

Teener Division

  • Age: 13-16

  • Season Length: 8-9 weeks

  • Opening date: 5/26/26

  • Game start: 5:45pm

  • Bat type: BBCOR or wood (No USA Stamp)

  • Cleats: Metal or molded

  • Distance in feet (Pitching/Bases): 60'-6"/90'

  • Helmet: C-Flap is recommended, but not required

We recommend a personal batting helmet for each player. See the C-flap rules in each division.

At minimum, teams will purchase hats and jerseys and distribute to the players. For pants, ask the coach when you are contacted for more information.

The dark extension in the front covers the chin for extra safety. The C-flap can be bought already attached to the helmet or purchased separately and attached.
