About the ABA...

Champion athletes aren’t just born - they’re trained, molded and tested. Several past ABA players have gone on to play collegiate sports, with some even making it to the professional level.

Since 1948, the Anthracite Baseball Association (ABA) has a history of being a competitive force in the lower Anthracite Coal Region of Pennsylvania. That history is defined through the ABA family, which incorporates the Mt. Carmel Junior Baseball League, the Lower Anthracite Teener League and several other leagues that have joined throughout the area.

The Anthracite Baseball Association playing area encompasses the school districts of Line Mountain, Lourdes Regional, Mt. Carmel, North Schuylkill, Shamokin, Shikellamy and Southern. The ABA is expanding constantly and there are approximately 600-700 players that register yearly.

The Anthracite Baseball Association has multiple divisions ranging from ages 4 through 16.

The divisions are with approximate ages:

  • T-Ball - Ages 4-5

  • Rookie - Ages 5-7

  • Minor - Ages 7-9

  • Major - Ages 10-12

  • Pioneer - Ages 13-14

  • Teener - Ages 13-16

Here at the Anthracite Baseball Association, we hone young talent to maturity with quality coaching and a true love of the sport through teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Join us by registering using the Players > Registration link in the menu at the top!
